How Do You Do...BAMBOO!

Good morning Zutter friends,
Pinky here with a fun book today, a Bamboo Spine Cover-Alls mini album!
When I found these I just fell head over heels for the amazing look.
Let me share a quick tutorial on how I put this "Happy Day" album together.

Step 1. Begin with 7X5.5 Bamboo Spine Cover-Alls book.
Using Clearsnap Smooch Spritz- spritz book all over, focusing steady spritz on spine.

Step 2. Create your cover page & back cover page. To fit cover (Make 1/2" smaller).
One shown in photo. Trim paper to 7 1/4"X51/4". Trim second paper to 6"X4 3/4" adhere.
Stitch on sewing machine, add lace, stitch on machine. Repeat for back cover page.
Step 3. Adhere cover pages to book cover- using strong adhesive.
Step 4. Embellish cover as desired.

For inside pages:
Step 5. Trim out several pages to desired size.
Step 6. Using Zutter Bind-It-All punch out holes for O-Wires.
Step 7. Using insert page- punch out holes for O-Wire remember
to use C-setting as shown in photo.
Step 8. Using Zutter Wire Cutters- trim O-Wires.
Step 9. Flip insert page to front of pages, insert cut 1" O-Wire.
Step 10. Set Bind-It-All to 1" setting to accommodate 1" O-Wire
Press handle firmly.
Step 11. Flip insert back over to back of pages.
Step 12. Insert into Cover-All.
When you are completed your book will look like this!
Ready for all those special memories and photographs, to be preserved for a lifetime.
I really hope you enjoys the post today, please come back and say hello.

It's Go Time!

I don’t create very many “manly” Bind-it-All projects.  I have two daughters, and it seems I am always making projects for baby showers, or weddings, or party gifts.  So, when my husband’s birthday was coming up I decided he needed an album to go with the gift…..tickets to the Auto Club 400 NASCAR race at the Southern California raceway.

I put together an album using the Zutter Cover-Alls forPre-Punched Page Protectors.  Cover-Alls are a great way to create an album while shielding the owire binding inside a book-like cover – it gives it a nice clean look.  For this project, I used the “Bamboo” style spine, in black.  This particular Cover-All is sized to work with the Pre-Punched Page Projectors.  Double bonus – pages nicely protected AND, no holes to punch – making the creating process that much faster!

Making the album was really fun and easy.  I cut pages to fit the size – in this case, 8X8, and added homemade embellishments (lots of logos and such downloaded from the Internet).  I even had fun creating a “checkered flag” sheet to mimic the colors and patterns of the race.  To add to the album, I also created a pocket to store ticket stubs, brochures and other memorabilia.  All this was put together and gifted along with the tickets and the promise to take lots of pictures to commemorate the day.

The family signed the cover page with birthday wishes!
Checkered Flag paper was made by weaving strips together!
A pocket for memorabilia!
Once I had the pictures from Race Day, I added them to the album, and “part 2” of the birthday present was complete.

The race was actually rained out, but I was the trooper in my poncho, and stayed until they kicked us out!
Ticket stubs, and photos of the whole track!
If you are not familiar with using Cover-Alls, the steps are just like binding any other Bind-it-All project – the difference being that bind the pages to a plastic insert sheet.  This sheet tucks into the back cover of the Cover-Alls, thus safely housing it into the cover.  It can’t be any simpler or streamlined! Cover-Alls come in sizes specifically for the Pre-Punched Page Protectors in 4X6, 8X8, and 12X12, or you can use "regular" Cover-Alls without the protectors...flexibility and versatility to suit your creative inspiration!

Plastic insert sheet tucked into the backcover!

With Father's Day and graduations coming up, you can try this gift-album idea yourself.   Happy Scrappin'!

Welcome to Day 1 of another delightful week of Zutter Zummer projects, shopping specials and giveaways! Today's project is from the delightful Zutter Zister Pam Sandy - she's from Michigan.  You'll see, Pam creates beautiful projects and loooooooooves vowels!  Read on, check out the shopping special, and leave a comment for todays' giveaway prize!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello everyone!  Haaaaaaaaaaaappy Zutter Zummer!  We are deep into summer right now, since it is August.  I think of a lot of things when I think about summer, swimming, camping, the lake, our vegetable garden, canning pickles and salsa, and just being outside.  Summer is also a time when many college students have a break, and look for summer jobs.  We were fortunate enough where I work to have the most fabulous summer intern you could ever imagine.  She is smart, efficient, reliable, creative, caring, and compassionate, all good things when you work at a hospital.  I wanted to make her something special as a going away gift, so of course I thought of my Bind-It-All!  Easy peasy to make any type mini I could think of.  I also decided that since my family is moving this summer, it was time to dig into and use some of my stash.  Since McKenzie's favorite color is purple, I went with it.

I have to confess, I am somewhat of a packrat, and I looooooooooove to save things.  Time to create a summertime gift, and lighten my stash while I was at it.  The first thing I do when I am creating a mini is gather a LOT of papers, scraps, and odds and end embellies that all coordinate.  I love that creating my own mini means I can mix manufacturers and supplies with ease.  Here is a photo of my initial pile of "ingredients" ~

Next I went through my piles and cut out my bases and some large accent papers~
After I had my papers cut, I inked everything with a Colorbox Violet Cat's Eye Ink. Inking everything really helps tie your project together when you use assorted manufacturer products, and helps to create a cohesive look.  Next I began assembling my pages.  Some of my pages were folded to add interest (I used my Scor-It-All, it works BEAUTIFULLY!), some were strictly 8 x 8 squares. After my pages were put together, stitched and embellished as I wished, I punched everything with my Bind-It-All, then assembed my mini.  I used an 8x8 Bamboo Spine CoverAll (love those things, they look so neat and tidy, and hold a boatload of stuff inside).  I sprayed the white CoverAll with a sparkly purple mist, then embellished the cover, and added a Perfect Closure to hold it all together ~

Here are a few pics of the inside of the album ~
Don't forget to use your Round-It-All for creating perfect round corners in a second ~
I embellished a cardboard CD holder and put it on the next to last page.  I thought if McKenzie had some favorite photos or a CD of songs, she could store it in her Mini.  I left lots of space for her to journal and add bits of her favorite things, in addition to photos.  Hopefully she will like her mini, and thinks of her summer 2011 when she uses it.

If you have someone in need of a gift, don't forget to think about using your Bind-It-All to create a one of a kind special gift.  Dig through your stash too, it is a lot of fun.  :)
Happy creating! ~ Pam
