Ahhhh.....summer vacations.  Zutter has all the supplies and tools for creating lasting memory projects from your summer fun.  Shelley Haganman, our Zutter Zister from Iowa, makes the most adorable projects - and they suit every mood and theme!  Check out her gallery from last summer for even more creating ideas.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I love Summer and I love traveling! This year I was so excited to visit the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle! This album is a collection of photos I took there. I wanted to stick with a "market" theme so I used Zutter's 5 x7 corrugated cardboard for the base of my album!

I used the Zutter Round-it-all to round all the corners of my pages. I painted, inked, and sanded them as well as my photos, added some masking tape and viola! I love the "raw" look that the corrugated cardboard gives my album!! You can add even more shabbiness to the corrugated board with the Distrezz-it-All - a little or a lot, depending on your preference.  I then bound my album with tie-wraps to finish the look! I love the versatility that Zutter's products offer for your creativity - not everything needs the Bind-it-All, though this would've worked just as well with owire and binding!

If you've not tried the raw look of corrugated board and the Distrezz-it-All, give it a shot.  It will add a whole new texture to your projects!
Corrugated board and the Distrezz-it-All go together like summer and sunscreen!  We think every crafter needs one of these hand-held electric distressing tools.  Toss the sandpaper and filers aside!  The Distrezz-it-All works on cardstock, chipboard, corrugated board, fabric-covered board, and more.  For a limited time, enjoy a 20% discount off the Zutter Distress-it-All.  Shop here.
Use coupon code: Zummer-DZ20A
Note, only one coupon code per transaction.  If you want to use multiple Zummer coupon offers, you must complete separate orders.

We're going to give away a Distrezz-it-All to one random winner.  But you can't leave just ANY comment.  We want to know what "distresses" you most when you are crafting.  Is it adhesive that dries too quickly?  Running out of ink in the middle of an overnight session of creativity?  From humorous to anguishing...let's hear it!  We will announce the "distrezzed" winner on Monday!

WE LOVE ZUMMER!

Zutter Corrugated Board Album!

I am so in love with these 5x7 Corrugated Boards from Zutter! They make great covers and pages for albums and that is just what I used them for in this project! First I tore parts of the covering off of the outside (cover pieces) of the board. Next, I painted them with some diluted white acrylic paint. When dry, I ran them through the amazing Distrezz-it-all to get that cool shabby look!
Now the fun part is putting your album together, adding your pages, paper, and embellishments!

What I really love about the cardboard pages is that you can hand sew right onto the board! That's what I did to make these cute flower stems and to create a border around a photo.
Zutter has Corrugated Board in 13x13, 7x5, and 7x7 sizes for your next project!

Wooden Postcards=Vacation Mini Album

Whenever I go on vacation I am always on the lookout for fun things to take home and scrapbook! This Summer while in Glacier National Park I found these really cool wooden postcards and thought "wouldn't those make great mini album covers!!" I bought two and with my beloved Bind-it-All machine I punched my holes right through the wood and made my album!

I really love how it turned out and it's a very unique album! So stop by those tourist souvenir stores and check out those National Park gift shops!! You never know what you might find that will make a one-of-a kind album. And with your Bind-it-All machine and some owires.....ANYTHING is possible!

"Jenny" Album.....

One of the things I like best about Zutter products is their versatility! I love that they offer so many different types of product to work with and that they can be altered in any way or left as is. In this album I made for a 2011 Senior girl, I used several of my favorite Zutter products...Clipboard Wood, Acrylic, and Canvas Artboard!

I wanted to make the front cover unique so I printed my photo onto fabric "paper" and adhered it to the front and back Clipboard Wood covers! This allowed me to write directly onto the clipboard inside covers! I loved using the clear plastic and also wrote directly on it around the perimeter of my photo to create a word frame!

Zutter Acrylic covers are fun because you can do so many fun things to it. I have written on it and here I have stamped on it using Staz-On ink! I like the effect that it gives!

Add some patterned paper, stickers, and some embellishments and now I have a cute little album for an adorable girl!
I hope you are inspired to get out your Zutter products and start creating!

Wedding album.....

I have always been a big fan of clear acrylic pages! And I really love the Zutter's Acrylic Covers. For this album I chose the 8x8 size to make this simple but elegant wedding album. To keep it simple I went with just photos, a few embellishments, and a rub on.
I created the cover by simply putting a flourish rub-on and a bling word directly onto the acrylic!
The bride's colors were orange and red so I chose tulle in those colors to "bind" the page. Zutter's Acrylic Covers are thin enough for you to use a heavy-duty hole punch to place your holes where you would like, or you could punch multiple holes with your Bind-it-All and thread with more ribbon (or bind with owire).

The inside pages are made of more acrylic and photos. I overlapped my photos from page to page so there was the same "white space" around the photos on each page.

I hope you will give some Zutter Acrylic a try in your next project!!

Vintage Photo Frame Album....

I love scouring second-hand shops for things I can use in my scrapping projects and these vintage frames were one of my most recent finds. To make this album I used two of the frames. I simply cut the top and bottom flaps off and used the frames as my back and front covers. Some Owire and embellisments and .....voila! -- a cute little mini album with built-in frames! Just one more reason why I love my Bind-it-all so very much. You can create a project with some many different kind of materials!!

Happy creating with Zutter!

Cover-All Love.....

One of my favorite Zutter products (and believe me....I have MANY favorites!) is the black Cover-All! It is so sleek and simple and it was just perfect for a mini album I wanted to make using only photos, some owires, and a white gel pen.
The black Cover-All is perfect for journaling directly onto the cover!! It's simple and yet very stunning! I love how this little album turned out and can't wait to give it to this adorable family!

I did use a bit of patterned paper and a piece of clear plastic but mostly this album is about the photos and the journaling so keeping it simple was my goal!  This black Cover-All is sized to go with the Pre-Punched Page Protectors, so unfortunately isn't part of the current 50% off sale on original Cover-Alls.  Zutter makes original Cover-Alls in white and craft, however, which would be great canvases for journaling with a dark or colored pen! Check out that sale, by the way, what a deal - Cover-Alls are definitely one of my faves!

Coverall + old map + Modge Podge = Vacation Album!

I simply love Zutter's Cover-Alls. They are so versatile, they come in several different styles and types, and they make great album covers. They can be covered in paper, fabric, they can inked, stamped, drawn on, and in this project covered with an old map. I wanted to make an album for our trip out East last Summer and decided to use a map of the part of the country we traveled as the covering for the Cover-All. I simply cut out the piece I wanted, applied Modge Podge to back and front of paper and Cover-All and covered outside cover.
I also used the fabulous rivets and rivet set tool to apply these metal pieces cut from license plates to spell "2009".
To cover the inside covers I cut a piece of chipboard just a bit smaller than the page and covered it with paper and then applied that covered piece of chipboard to the inside covers. A single strip of paper down the middle of the inside of the spine of the album and you are done!

The possibilities are endless when it comes to Zutter's Cover-Alls! I could see using old papers, magazines, photos, book pages, you see what I mean!!! Happy creating with Zutter!!

Recycle-Reuse!!!

My goal for this little project was to use some Zutter chipboard scraps that I had left over from other projects! I am very happy with how it turned out. The covers I kept the same size but all the inside pages are different!

To take my reusing/recycling theme even farther I decided to use my left over "punchings" from my Bind-it-All to create the mane of my lion! I am thinking these pieces would make a great border on a page or project or even as the material for a shaker box!!

Challenge yourself to reuse/recycle on your next project and make sure to incorporate your "punchings" too!!! Happy creating with Zutter!!

Distrezz-it-All....I love you!

I really do!! I really never tried the distrezzed shabby-chic look but after receiving my Distrezz-it-All....I can't stop!!! This is the first little album I tested my new machine on and boy...I am hooked now!! I love the results and can I just say it is so fast!! I think that is why I never really got into the technique...I wasn't willing to take the time. Well, I still don't I don't have to worry about distrezzing time, thanks to my new friend! I not only distrezzed the Cover-All, the cardstock, the patterned paper, but also the photos....and I so love how they turned out!!

Magnetic/Chalkboard project with Clipboard Wood

I had never used Zutter's ClipBoard Wood Covers before so I wanted to do something fun and different with them. This is a quick little project that just requires clipboard page (I used the 10x10) some magnetic paint and a frame! First paint the clipboard according to the manufacturer's instructions. The clipboard is perfect for this project as it is sturdy, the paint adheres nicely and evenly! Once your page is painted you can add a frame and decorate how you would like. I used old Scrabble pieces to spell "LOVE" and just attached small magnets to the back of them. I also did this to the crocheted flowers as well. I found some inexpensive photo sleeves and added my photos to the board. A little chalk to draw some hearts and you have an adorable little board that can be changed out and personalized whenever you are in the mood!!

Happy creating with Zutter!!!

Coverall + Fabric= Adorable Mini Album!

Ahhhh.....Spring is FINALLY here! It has been a long Winter here in the Midwest! When I saw this fabric I knew it would make a great cover for a little mini album. It made me think of Spring and everything green. I love to incorporate fabric into my projects whenever I can and Zutter Cover-Alls are great for just such a project. They are easy to cover and look great too!!

To cover a Cover-All you will need to cut a piece of fabric the length and width of the Cover-All you are using and add about 1/2 inch extra on each side. Lay your Cover-All opened onto the backside of your cut fabric. Using a good adhesive adhere the edges to the inside of your coverall. (I use clothespins to hold my fabric to my Cover-All until it is dry) Make allowances when covering the area where the album part slips into the inside cover pocket. Now cut a piece of chipboard just a little smaller than the front and back inside covers. Cover these with fabric and then adhere to the inside covers. Now your album is ready to embellish however you would like! I also used Zutter Chipboard Covers and just painted them and added patterned paper. I also used a piece of clear plastic and hand stitched a heart on it. Baby Pink Owires were just perfect for this little album about an adorable little girl! Happy creating with Zutter!!

Zutter products used:
  • Bind-it-all
  • 7.5x5 Cover-All (curved spine)
  • 7.5x5 Chipboard Covers
  • 3/4 inch baby pink owires
  • Rivets
  • Pound-it-all

Magnetic Photo Holders

I love keeping photos on my fridge and on my locker at work so I decided to come up with a way to hang them and keep them protected!

Supplies you will need: Zutter Acrylic Covers (I used 3x4 but you could use any size you would like!), Zutter Rivets, Zutter Pound-it-All, Zutter Rivet Setter and Hammer, and some strong magnets!
Place two acrylic covers on top of each other. Punch a hole in each corner of each page. Now set your rivets using your Pound-it-all. Next you are ready to add your photo. You may have to trim it just a bit to slide it in between the two clear covers. Now you have a cute little frame that protects your picture. You are also able to switch out the photo for another one whenever you want! Now just add a magnet on the back behind your photo and it's ready to hang!! These would make great gifts for grandparents who like to keep photos of their kids and grandkids!

Make a couple to tuck into Easter baskets or inside greeting cards! Fun and thoughtful!

Happy creating!
