Old Book Covers? Yes Please!

Jennifer Priest here with a fun Halloween mini I created using actual old book covers! Using book pages for decoupage and other projects, like wreaths, is so popular but what do you do with the leftover book coves? Many vintage books, like the reader's Digest Condensed book here, have old covers with a great patina and fabulous designs. They are great to repurpose as mini album covers like this:

Tie all kinds of lace and trim to the binding to give the book a spooky feel for Halloween!

The pages can be bigger than the covers, like this 5x7 Chipboard Covers and Glassine Bags I used here:

Consider wrapping pages with trim and tying it in a knot after the pages are bound--this eliminates the risk of accidentally punching through and cutting a trim.

Hope you enjoyed this book! And next time, before you throw those old book covers away, think about giving them new life with your Bind-it-All!

A Spooktacular Halloween Album!

Get ready for Halloween with a quick and easy Halloween book!! This little book is all ready for photos when Halloween comes!!

To create this book, I dug around in my big bin of plain mini books, and found one that I've had forever in my stash. It came with 2 covers (that are about 4.6x6.5) and the inside pages were an accordion album... I decorated the cover, and then Zuttered it, and also used the Bind-it-All to punch the inside (accordion) pages as well. I used lots of my die cuts (Sizzix for the ghosts, which are glitter paper and chipboard, and the cloud, and the Cricut for the "Halloween" title). I layered the pretty SEI papers for the cover, and for the inside, I used the Martha Drippy Goo punch to decorate the bottoms of the photo mats... I used the Zutter Bind-it-All  and Zutter 1" black OWires to put it all together!! A quick and easy project that's just waiting for me to take Halloween photos... I just love the embossing and glitter/foil on the patterned papers, I think they'll really make the photos stand out!

Here's a few photos from the inside of the book...

Hope you're ready for a Spooktacular Halloween!
