Binding at Reflections

A few of the Zutter Zisters were in attendance this weekend at the Reflections Scrapbooking event in Newport Beach. What a great way to spend National Scrapbooking Day (weekend/month/year/everyday of our lives! Hee Hee!)

Not only did we get to take some great classes, create make ‘n takes and generally socialize and be silly, we got to partake and share in a little BIA love.
Friday night at the event was what was called the Isle Carnival – an evening of free make ‘n takes, and yummy vendor shopping. OZZ DT Member Jennifer Priest was on hand with her lovely Hydrangea Hippo etsy store. Her wares were quite a hit. Zutter Zister Sarah de Guzman worked the event for a vendor, conducting make ‘n takes. Me? I ran around and tried to take in as much as I could. It was nice to see Alice Carman from the Scrapbook Garden (Huntington Beach, CA) doing this adorable BIA mini album make ‘n take. Everyone loved the embellishments on the front, and I love the cute binding style….see the cute 2 loops of owire on each end? That’s a great way to use small scraps of owire and add a new look to the book! No wonder this MnT had a long line nearly all night!
In addition to the Friday night fun, the weekend consisted of 7 total 3 hour-long classes. One class – taught by Maggie Holmes - was this lovely Home Sweet Home album. Maggie has a great layering style with beautiful colors and paper combinations. Her album originally was a binder ring style album, but you know me….have Bind-it-All, will travel….I bound mine with silver owire and voila! Jennifer Priest and I were rogue BIA users in the back of the class. Hee Hee.

This was the 2nd year for Reflections, and I think it’s a hit. Great job by the organizers Karen and Susan and the team from Scrapbook Oasis. Thanks for a scrap-fabulous weekend!

Thanks for sharing about the weekend! LOL Yes, Maggie came up to me in the back of the class and asked what I was doing--I tired to be incognito! LOL But I love my binding ;)
