Bind-it-All 101 Class Starts on Wednesday! Still time to register!

If you are newbie to the Bind-it-All, or just never quite got the hang of it, this class is for you....Bind-it-All 101: Punching & Binding and ZO Much More!

This is a 4-week course that covers all the basics of your Bind-it-All and walks you through one (or more) projects per week, including the cute Punching & Binding Guide you will make for yourself!

All classes are ONLINE, meaning you can access the lessons anywhere, anytime. The courses are instructor-led, but self-paced, meaning you can view the videos and/or narrated slide shows on your own time. There is no specific time when you need to be online. These courses - through an exclusive arrangement with My Creative Classroom are "Zutter Zertified" - meaning you are getting top-notch BIA instruction. You can use either the PINK BIA V2.0 or the blue original BIA.

For BIA veterans, there is also Bind-it-All: 4 Projects in 4 Weeks in April.  We will be creating unique projects with the BIA that uses supplies you already have, as well as the fun all-in-one Spinner Album Kit! Here is the run-down of the course projects:

It's March --think "Green"

What better way to ring in March, Spring, and get into that St. Patty's Day spirit than to create a "green" project? This one is perfect for your Spring Cleaning "to-do" list ;)

This project is easy to do and is very "green"--you can recycle your old gift cards into covers for a cute little notepad. If you only have one gift card that you like, find a fake credit card (like the kind you get in junk mail) or a gift card you don't like that you can use for the back cover.

Supplies:

•  Bind-It-All
• 2 Gift Cards (no money on them)
• About 10 sheets of printer paper or notebook paper
• 4 "loops" of 3/4" Zutter O-Wire
• Strong Tape Runner Adhesive

1. Cover the backs of each gift cards with patterned paper. This is to cover the ugly UPC code parts of the cards. Make sure there is no money on the card before you do this because you won't be able to use the cards after this. If you're using an ugly card for your back cover, cover BOTH sides of that card with paper.



2. Insert the cards into the Bind-it-All with the INSIDES of the covers facing each other. Use the holes printed along the top of the machine to make sure that you're only punching 4 holes into the cards.


This is what your cards should look like once the holes have been punched:

3. Cut the printer or notebook paper down to slightly smaller than your gift cards -- a standard size seems to be about 2" x 3".



4. Punch 4 holes in the top of the paper pieces along the 2" (shorter) side. You can punch as many papers at a time as will fit in the Bind-It-All slot.

5. Stack your pages in this order to be bound:

• Notebook or Printer paper stack
• Then put the COVER on top.
• Then put the BACK COVER on top so you can see the INSIDE of the back cover.

This is important because it will ensure that the seam where the O-Wires close is in the back of the book.




6. Thread the O-Wires from the bottom (through the paper pages, then the cover, then the back cover).


7. Close the O-Wires using the Bind-It-All machine. Flip the back cover to the back and voila: instant mini notepad!



Easy peasy! If you don't have any old gift cards or you want to make a bunch of these you can get the giftcards at your local friendly retailer. But before you go shoving a pile of cute giftcards into your purse, ask the store if you can take them for a craft project. Sometimes they want you to load money on them -- I just spend the cards on my next purchase if that happens and afterwards I have the empty cards to keep. Other times they just let me have the stack of cards. The stores keep track of their inventory of cards so if you just take a bunch (besides being like stealing) they won't reorder any because their inventory will say they are all stocked up. And how will you get new cute gift cards to make mini notebooks from then?!

These mini books are great teacher gifts (it's getting close to that "end of year" gift time), party favors, co-worker gifts, or just to have in your purse or glove box in the car.

I need the Hang It Alls because without them my life will not be complete, I wouldn't be able to sleep, eat or craft...and then I would dwindle away to nothing ... and ... *sob* it will take about a hundred years for them to be in the stores in the UK and I know I just couldn't wait that long!

Wall Hanging - Bind-it-All Style

Start with some amazingly pretty patterned paper from Kiki  Art, adhered to a rockin' sturdy 10X10 piece of Zutter Clipboard Wood.  You can see I left an itty bitty border so the wood would show, and distressed all the edges with ink and paint.

I punched the top edge and laced the holes with a pretty ribbon. I did this first because I wasn't sure what I was going to embellish with so I wanted to make sure I was able to punch the edges before adding anything bulky or glittery that wouldn't fit in the Bind-it-All.

I glittered some old plastic letters to match the paper, and also used some felt ribbon, front and back (glittered the back adhesive side). By the way, this is a great way to use up old supplies - the felt wasn't a color I was going to use a alot of and the letters were the wrong color completely.  So, a bit of glitter and VOILA!

I had these acrylic swirls that I sponged with white paint....and then a bunch of fun texture-y odds and ends to go with my favorite family photo. The paper has adorable little ladybugs, which I punched up with some lady bug buttons I had left over from a baby shower I organized last year. I added the pretty green lace along the bottom edge to soften things up.

How did I do it???

I wanted to share with you the inspiration and tutorial on my "BFF Wall Hanging"!!

I took TONS of pictures of my daughters "Sweet 16" Birthday Bash....I even created a mini album for her, commemorating this milestone in her life....however, I was left with EXTRA wallet size photos! and so instead of tossing them....which I knew I could NEVER do....I decided to create a wall hanging that she could enjoy everyday!!

So let's get to it!!!

Supplies I used...

Bind-it-All

4x4, 4x6 Chipboard Cover, 6x6 Canvas Art Board Cover all by Zutter

Maya Road Chipboard Embellies

Glimmer Mist - Olive Vine, Frost, Pinecone

Claudine Hellmuth Studio - Gesso,  Multi Medium

Tim Holtz - Grungeboard - Nature Plain

Wallet Size photos

Paint ALL the chipboard with Gesso.

Let the gesso dry.

Spray the painted surface with Glimmer Mist.

It is IMPORTANT to dry between layers.

Apply as many layers as necessary to achieve your desired look.

Repeat this process on all pieces of Chipboard.

Note: if you find that your chipboard is bowing, spray the back side with a mist of water and dry while gently bending the chipboard.

Note: if you are using more that one layer of chipboard, you will need to punch the pieces separately.

Now compile your Wall hanging.

I used Multi Medium to adhere everything together.

You will have created a wall hanging for everyone to ENJOY!!

Hangin' with the NEW Hang-it-Alls....Win a mini MnT Kit from CHA!
