Holiday Project Inspiration

The week between Christmas and New Year's is always a funny time for me. I tend to remember all the things I meant to do for Christmas but didn't get around to (or just plain ran out of time!) I also end up working all week at the office because I took so much time off earlier in the year for scrapbooking events! I guess it's not all bad, because things are slow at the office, for the most part, and I can get caught up on all things scrappy related....and, I can make plans for what I am going to make next! I think I will try to make some quick holiday mini books to get some of my favorite pictures out of the camera fast.....I don't want them to sit there too long this time and end up scrapping holiday pictures at Easter time!
Take for instance, these awesome holiday projects from the Zutter Zisters Bind-it-All Design Team. They have been busy little elves, creating beautiful holiday projects. So while the time of year is still fresh and you are feeling festive (and if you are off - lucky you - then you have time to do some creating!) then take some inspirational cues from them. Pull out your Bind-it-All, some of that beautiful holiday paper and embellishments you have and put those photos into a quick holiday recap book. Try the Cover-Alls for something really quick and amazing looking!

~ I can't resist...just one more calendar!

I just had to post one more project in December--here is another calendar, this time in a 5" x 7.5" size. Calendars really are great gifts. Once you make one using the Bind-it-All, you'll be hooked!

Want to see more pictures of the sides and base of this project? Click here to see more: Lea's blog. If you make a version of your own using any of the calendar designs from this blog, please post a link back to this post so that we can see your creations!

Happy holidays,
Lea

Calendar Projects

Bind-it-All calendar projects are popular all year long - but even more so this time of year when we are busy coming up with gift ideas and planning ahead for the new year! In addition to the ones the Design Team has shown here recently, our friends at Prima recently posted instructions on a calendar with a Prima twist. Check it out here on the Prima blog. The Prima embossed chipboard adds a beautiful feel to this one - and you can round the corners with the Zutter Round-it-All!

Hope your holidays are delightful!

Coveralls Giveaway Winners and 2009 Calendars

Sorry, all! I'm a day late announcing the giveaway winners but to make up for my tardiness, I'm going to announce two winners instead of just one--one domestic and one international! My trusty little boy, Jacob picked:

1. Rene said...I love to make presents for people. I have done a lot of crafting over the years and rarely keep anything for myself. It warms my heart when someone opens my gift and you can tell they know it came from the heart.
2. Sheene said...I love to scrap bonding moments with DH and kids.. its not everyday they get to snuggle up because it doesnt really get that cold here in the Philippines except on the holidays.. :)

Congrats, ladies! Please email Nan Partuzo at nan@binditall.com with your name and complete mailing addresses. Happy Holidays to all!
=============

The last project I will share with you all in the BIA blog in December is a cute little 4" x 4" desk calendar. Now is a great time to make calendars for the next year. This one takes full advantage of the Bind-it-All from top to bottom with 3 o-wires and three acrylic covers to form the "base" and cover of the calendar.

If you would like JPEGs of the calendar months with U.S. Federal holidays highlighted, click here to get them from my blog: calendar. If you would like an editable Excel version to make your own JPEGs, send an email to me at leasanders@yahoo.com, put "Calendar Months" in the title.

Have a great holiday and catch you all again next year!

Postscript 12/15/08 -- Looks like some of our blog visitors are curious as to what the base of the calendar looks like. I've added a couple more pictures from an earlier version of my calendar so that you can see what the top and the bottom looks like. I think you'll get a better idea of how to form the base of the calendar from the photos below. I recommend viewing the following link for a good tutorial on the basics of how to form the calendar: BIA Stand
Thanks,
Lea

Quick and Easy Christmas Gift Ideas…

Do you have a long list of gifts to make yet you are short on time? Create mini albums using the Bind-It-All and DreamKuts Innovative Tools. Cut chipboard out and cover it with your favorite pattern papers and embellishments. The page inserts were created using a single sheet of cardstock cut with the DreamKuts tool. I love the look and texture of ribbons; they look great tied to the Zutter OWires. Now you are ready for the holidays!

A tip to making these mini albums so quickly: choose coordinating colors and embellishments. By choosing similar product colors and working with one theme, the work flows faster.

I would love to hear your comments and tips for creating mini album gifts with the Zutter Bind-It-All.
