A Layout with Zutter Hang-it-Alls

We are pleased to share this project with you from the
Design Team from Donna Salazar Designs!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone!  Natasha here with another layout I created for Donna Salazar Designs using her GORGEOUS Antiquities Collection.  I am in loooove with these papers!
I dedicated this layout to my hubby because, as the title says, he is my strength.  Before I met him I had a difficult life.  I was a single mom, working full time and taking care of my two babies at the same time.  (They literally came to work with me every day.)  There were many difficulties in my life at the time that caused me to feel truly unhappy. One day while on a family vacation in South America, I met my (now) husband and there was an instant connection.  Five months later we were engaged, and a year after that we were married!  I know it may sound like a fairytale, but believe me, it wasn't always easy.  We had to endure a long-distance relationship for quite some time.  But looking back, I think the distance made our relationship stronger.  My husband has stood by me through the many challenges I have had to face, and because of him, I am a stronger person today.  I am truly happy now.
Okay, enough of the sentimental stuff... let me show you some of the details of my layout before I break out in tears.  :O)
I created somewhat of a distressed 'frame' for my layout using Donna's 'Let's Ride' and 'Theater' papers.  I hand-stitched a border around the frame and inked the edges using Colorbox Cat's Eye Pigment Ink in Chestnut.  The edges of my layout were distressed with a Zutter Distrezz-It-All.
The beautiful vintage nameplate is a chipboard element made by The Dusty Attic.  It was inked using Chestnut Pigment Ink and spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.  The word 'STRENGTH' was debossed using a Chip Art tool and Sparrow Alphabet set by Melody Ross.
The photo of my husband and I is layered on top of Corrugated Board by Zutter.  The corrugated board was painted with white acrylic paint and spritzed with Caramel Latte Smooch Spritz.  I fussy cut some of the beautiful floral images from the Queen Bees paper and layered them beneath my photo.
This flower is hand-made using a variety of different papers from the Antiquities collection.  I applied a coat of Glue Gloss and Fairy Dust Glitter on each flower to add a little shimmer.
This cluster of flowers is made up of Prima, mulberry and hand-made flowers.  I also added some pearls and vines made by Prima as well.
To the right of the floral cluster you can catch a glimpse of a shimmery design.  This was made using Clearsnap's Design Adhesives.  It is a double-sided patterned adhesive that can be used with glitter, embossing powder, micro beads and much more!  You simply peel and stick the adhesive and coat it with whatever you like.  It creates such a beautiful effect!
Much of this layout was brushed with white acrylic paint.  I really love the 'whitewashed' look because it adds a shabby feel to any project.
You may have noticed that my photo & corrugated board are hanging on Antique Brass Hang-It-Alls made by Zutter.  There is actually a reason for this...
The photo flips up to reveal hidden journaling!  This quote was written by Lao Tzu, an ancient Chinese philosopher.  I believe strongly in the truth of this quote and found it to be very fitting for this layout.  Each line was printed onto cardstock and spritzed with Smooch Spritz.  Each journaling strip was hand-stitched for added texture.
Thank you for stopping by to take a peek at my layout.  I hope you all have a beautiful and creative day!  Much love and hugs!

Cover-All Love

I love to play with the Cover-Alls -  they are so much fun to paint, spray, cover and just create with.

Here are several different ways you can alter your Cover-Alls:

Paint:
You can paint the entire Cover-All or like I did here just paint the spine, the back and the edges and then add paper on the cover. I also sanded the paint off some of the Cover-All for this project.

Paper:
This is a fun easy way to coordinate your cover with the rest of your project. I use a strong double sided tape called Sookwang Tape (also called Scor-pal tape) to make sure the paper sticks really well.

Material:
I used canvas for this Cover-All but you could use any material you like.

Mists:
I love using Glimmer Mist on the Cover-Alls as you get a really nice finish with a little shimmer to it.

So grab some Cover-Alls and get creative with your next project.  They come in three spine styles and sizes from 3X4 to 8X8.  There are also Cover-Alls specially sized to fit Zutter's Pre-Punched Page Protectors to make your projects so SUPER FAST!

Summer Vacation Cover-All!

I recently had the pleasure of contributing a project to a newsletter called Paper and Pixels - a group of enthusiastic digi scrappers who love everything crafty.  You can sign up for the ezine on this link and get it free, by the way.  Who doesn't love free?

Anyway, one of their members recently took my Bind-it-All 101 class and she raves about Paper and Pixels sisterhood - so give them a look-see.

So this is the fun project I made to get summer rolling....an album made from Zutter Cover-Alls for Pre-Punched Page Protectors.  Can you say "Whoooohoooo for fast and easy and let's get outta the house and on to D-Land?"
For this project I used a 4X6 Cover-All sized for Pre-Punched Page Protectors, 4X6 Pre-Punched Page Protectors, and a bit of 4X4 Acrylic and Chipboard.  With some of your favorite patterned paper and embellishments, this album will be ready for photos and journaling in no time.  I used red 3/4" Zutter Owire to go with my color theme.
This cool thing about working with Cover-Alls is that you punch your pages along with this plastic insert sheet.  The plastic sheet gets inserted into the Cover-All.  That way, the owire is covered and provides a nice clean look to your project.  You decorate the Cover-All any way you wish!  So for this project, I interspersed pre-punched page protectors with 4X4 acrylic pages, 4X4 chipboard pages, cardstock pages, tags and miscellaneous doo-dads.

I slid mats into the pre-punched page protectors - ready for photos and journaling.

Voila! Ready for our summer memories at the happiest place....  :)

You can download a PDF of this project here....
And, be sure to sign up for Paper and Pixels!

Happy Summer!

Twilight with the Bind-it-All!

I'm not the only Zutter Zister who is a Twilight fan!  I know you are out there!  Last month I attended the Twilight Convention in Arlington, VA - and I love making projects for this event.  This album served as a combination memory and autograph book. Convention guests signed on the scalloped pages and I am in the process of filling the pages with pictures from all the fun I had.

Don’t be afraid to make an extra thick project - this book will be thick with memorabilia!  The Zutter 1 ¼” owires can handle the extra bulk!
With some perfect color-themed paper and some simple additions (like border punches, ribbon, folded pages, etc.), this album came together beautifully.  The red owire was PERFECT!

Zutter Products & Materials Used:
Zutter Tools Used: Bind-it-All
Owire Size & Color: 1 ¼” red

Other Materials: 7Gypsies – 8” black book boards, Patterned Paper/cardstock: DCWV, Fancy Pants, Teresa Collins,Glitz Design, Creative Imaginations, Bazzill Basics, Stampin’ Up! – ink; Judikins – Diamond Glaze

Isn't it GREAT to create your own CUSTOM albums?
