Lazy Days of Zummer!

We are on Day Four of the Zutter Zummer blog special and we are delighted to share a project from Original Zutter Zister, Julie Ann Kelly, of Massachusetts.  This project highlights the ease with which you can create a great album with a few Zutter products and tools.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 I LOVE summer-time... Sun, and warmth, and oh-so-many opportunities for fun pictures!! My husband had to travel to California for work, and we turned it into an amazing family vacation!! Here's the book that I made to capture just the highlights of the trip, a fun book that the kids can take to school in the fall to show all their friends...
I used an 8x8 Zutter Acrylic cover for the front of the album, and Zutter 8x8 white Chipboard for the back. The inside pages are 8x11 plain white cardstock, scored (with my Scor-it-All) at 3.5 inches to create a little flap (I like to journal on the insides of things). And, I used the super fun Echo Park "Summer Days" papers and stickers to decorate.
To create the book, I simply alternated the folded papers (so the flaps would be on the inside and outside of the binding) and bound with the covers... Then added the super fun papers and stickers!! A super fun way to create a little book... now I just need to print some pictures and get them glued in!!
With just a few folds and flaps, you can have a great looking album ready to go in no time...and isn't that what you want, especially in the summer?  Now get out and enjoy your day!
When my daughter got married, I created a 6x6 album using my BIA & pictures of her & her husband as babies & growing up. The pictures were of them in similar poses, ie first time sitting up, on a swing, etc. It turned out really cute, unfortunately I didn't take pictures of it, before giving it to her.
I love my bia. My favorite book to make comes from following the paper trail that has a 6 pages and binds it using 3/4" wires to hold the pocket pages together.
I actually received a beautifully created mini album a few years ago done with the BIA! It was quite large for a mini and had spirals on both sides with the pages alternating. Very cool! The cover opened in the middle.
I love my new bind it all. I made my first journal it wasn't perfect but i'll use it anyway. I was looking for ideas on what to make with my bind it all and I came across the mini album from Linda at Follow the paper trail. I think this will be my next project. Here is the link.
Adorable album! Love the acrylic cover and the summer colors! Beautiful job!
I am currently working on a mini recipe album which I will use my BIA. My fav project to date is a Halloween mini titled 'bugs and hisses'. Made this album after taking the BIA 101 class at MCC.
I love by BIA -- BTW I am giving away the BIA book on my blog www.scrapinkats.blogspot when I reach 200- I received it at ARt-Full and I have one at home-- I have to say I have made about 4 minis since then! THanks for the fun!
I made a mini album about my sweet dog Lucy. I used corrugated pages and transparencies, made pockets for journaling tags and covered chipboard with patterned paper. I love the chunkiness and texture of it! My Bind It All bound it with no problems! I made it at a crop, all the ladies looked at me like I was nuts while I was tearing up a used cardboard box and then tearing the top layer off exposing the inner corrugations. But when I was done, they all wanted to see it and many oohs and ahhs were heard!
As a new Copic marker owner, I was excited to find this Copic color book created with a Bind-It-All: http://jans-gonestampin.blogspot.com/2010/08/excerpts-from-my-copic-coloring-book.html
Now I want to make one for myself!
My favourite Bind-it-all project is the perpetual Birthday/Anniversary calendar I made for my Grandma. The hardest part of the whole project was getting the information from all my family memebers!
Recently my daughter (with a little help from dear old mom) made a travel journal for a summer trip to her uncle's. She is even a 'guest designer' on my blog for this little project. She really loved posting on my blog.
