A few years back we discovered a nice, semi-private beach in part of Corona Del Mar, near Newport Beach, CA. It is a bit of a hike down a crazy hill but well worth it -- privacy, tide pools, clean sand...it's still my favorite. This summer our first beach trip was to Corona Del Mar. Our niece and nephews joined us and we had a grand time. This is the first time I have ever created a mini book within weeks of the event and I have to tell you, it is so rewarding! This mini only took me a couple of hours (measured in episodes of Real Housewives of New Jersey --heehee) to create and embellish.
I used a Clear Scraps Chipboard Uturn Album to capture these wonderful "first of summer" memories of my family. The arrows lend a fun, whimsical feel to the album while the beach themed papers I chose help continue the beach theme throughout the book. This book came with two binder rings binding it. I can't tell you how many times people have told me in classes how much they love how sturdy their Bind-It-All bound books are and then they compare that binding to wobbly binder rings. I have to agree! It's easy to convert a binder ring binding to an owire based binding, especially when the binding side of the book is a straight edge. And if you are creating a heavily embellished book that will likely be handled a lot, it's a great idea to convert the binding to the sturdier owire option.
To start, I covered all the pages of the album with paper and cut them out with a craft knife. This covers the binder ring holes, creating a fresh canvas for the Bind-It-All to punch. After I bound the book with owire, it was nice and sturdy, ready to accept the heavy dose of embellishments I loaded it up with!
I also took advantage of the continuous owire binding by adding extra tags, postcards, and kraft envelopes as mini pages between the chipboard pages. I used 1" Antique Brass owires to bind the book. I then added photos and embellishments.
You can easily convert any album with a straight edge into an owire bound masterpiece using your Bind It All. Summer photos are calling. Come on, create a book for them using your trusty Bind-It-All!

One of my favourite summer memories is when I went camping with my brother in a lake area not far from home. We went by his boat to a small island they call Hawaii. :) It has got the most beautiful beach imaginable. The island was completely deserted, so we had it to ourselves. We slept over in tents and watched the sun rise the next morning while we drank coffe. After that we took a deep plunge into the lake. I´ll remember that weekend for the rest of my life.
Returned yesterday from a week's vacation and guess what...for the first time ever I have a completed scrapbook from a trip right away...the week before we left I used my Bind-it-all to create a travel journal that I took along on the trip...the binding and embellishing was done before we left and I simply journaled each day...I just need to add my photos later this afternoon and voila! A completed scrapbook within days of returning from a vacation...now that's a new favorite summer memory!
This summer is probably one of my favorite ones... I've spent a lot of time crafting (making a lot of mini albums for my grandkids). This is something I have never been able to do before for various reasons. Loving it!! Also finally getting to learn a lot of new crafting ideas. Thanks for asking!!! And thanks for the chance to win the distrezzing tool!!!
Ohh, this is so hard! I have a lot of favorite summer memories when I was younger, my brother & sister and me, would spend all day outside, we would water down the yard and then ride our bikes in the mud.. as a teen, when I was not working, I would spend time with my friends walking the malls and window shopping.. When I had my daughters, I loved the summer days it was not too hot and I could set their pool up and let them play outside for hours. Now their both teens,my favorite time is spending with them on a road trip, just us girls.. Each summer we build new favorite times.

Oh, I do luv your book! The colors and "stuff" just make one want to pick it up. I think the best summer memory of adult life was teaching the kids to row a boat at the lake one summer, round and round they went! lol and couldn't get back!
My favorite summer was a cross-country trip that my parents had saved up for and took us all thru the best of sightseeing in 1970. The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Las Vegas, Disneyland and San Francisco were my favorite places and just being with my parents for 3 long weeks was the best time of my young life!
My favorite summer memories would be when I worked at Crater Lake National Park. What fun to see the clouds in the lake and hiking with all my new friends.
I think my most favorite summer memory is when I went to Savannah with a friend of mine - we had the best time!! I still haven't finished scrapbooking all of my photos. I would love to make a copy of my album for my friend - I think she would love it. I've looked for one of the distrezzing machines in my local stores and can't find one - this would be awesome!! Thanks for the offer!
It is definitely hard to choose. Now that my husband & I are empty nesters, we take a driving trip each summer. My favorite so far has to be the Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, & Four Corners. While driving we also happened on to the little town of Kanab, what was then the home of Stampin' Up! At that time, I was thinking about joining. I took this as a sign, and have been a Demonstrator for almost 8 years now!
Love this mini album...
so far this summer is really hot and all we have done is work on our house. We are building a fence. IT is quit the adventure. I might just have to do a mini album of this fun exciting adventure...
I hope to travel a little later this summer.
One of my favourite summer memories is taking our kids camping. We slept in tents right near the lake and had lots of wonderful experiences together - hiking, exploring, making 'smores and enjoying the campfires to name a few!
One of my favorite memories is the year we went to Las Vegas and took a side trip to the Grand Canyon by plane - a scarey ride, but oh so worth it!
Lovely book! The papers and embellishments are great.
I'm a bit confused on the binding. The book came with 2 (or 3) binder rings binding it. It looks like you removed those. How? Do you have to cut them? Do they open?
Once you had the pages and extras the way you wanted, you used the Bind-It-All to bind it all together?
Thanks for any help.
my summer memories are hanging out at the Rose Vally pool. No worries
Oh my, what a great project!!!! I love mini's!
Fav summer memmories . . .there is nothing like a cruise!
Love the mini, it's so inspiring!
A favorite summer memory is when a friend and I went to Prince Edward Island. We had such a grand time taking in the sites, eating, taking in plays, and talking with people. We stayed at B and B's ranging from very luxurious to basic. Regardless the owners were always welcoming and were able to guide us to the best eating spots or "you can't miss" this place. I have fond memories, all in my mind as I have no idea where the pictures are. My hope is that my husband and I will go to PEI in the near future. This time I will get the pix into a scrapbook.
One of my favorite stories to tell my kids was we stayed at Mrs. Tucker's Inn at the beach. We went my mom and her friends and we couldn't find a room except at Mrs. Tucker's Inn. My mother and her friends wondered why there was a vacancy and it didn't take long to find out. It was filled with flying palmetto bugs (roaches). so bad that one friend slept in the hammock on the front porch. Must say we left the next day :) But fun memory to tell.
I love love love summer! My fav. memory would have to be at our local lake camping, swimming, boating, water sking , etc. I wish as an adult I had time to do it again :)

Gorgeous mini!!! Love it! I love being on the lake with my kids and grandkids. Each time we are out there, we are busy making new favorite memories as fast as we can. :)
One of my favorite summer memories is working at the shore in New Jersey during a one month nursing school break. I would spend the day on the beach and then walk 30 blocks to the shop on the boardwalk. Got a coffee after work to warm up after working in the air conditioned store while having a sunburn- pre-sunscreen days.
My favorite summer memory is the summer I went on a 2 week boating trip on Lake Superior with my grandparents. Camping on a lake in a boat is an incredible experience that I will never forget and cherish all my life! Wish I had a Zutter album of that summer trip. :(
MY favorite summer memories is going to Disneyland last year the kids are older so they can go by themself and then we meet for luch or dinner and share the experiences...
best regards,

Camping memories or time spent at the lake. I'm hoping to take my two year old out this weekend to keep the memories going!
My best summer memory so far this year is the family reunion I just returned from. It was so great being with relatives that I rarely see. Love your book.
One of my favorite summer memories is sleepovers with my cousins...a dozen of us all sleeping in the same room makes for lots of laughs!
Summer always brings back memories of weeks at camp with lots of fun things to do.
I love spending the day at a lake with a good book.

One o my fav memories was when I was a very young child my great Aunt and Uncle owned a beautiful hotel at the Jersey Shore. My parents would take us there to stay for weeks on end. It was great being able to spend time with the family on the beach or the boardwalk. I really miss those days and a grateful for having that time with my Great Aunt. She was such a wonderful person.

St.Pete beach seeing dolphin, and just having a wonderful lazy week with the kids before the first one went off to college. We had such fun, playing games, going to a festival, and taking the time to just not do anything at all but enjoy each other.
I remember how I used to take my kids to the beach and see how much they enjoyed the water and the sand, and I love to listen to the waves at night!!!
I'm loving this summer! I've been on vacation for the past 2 weeks and we've been camping!!! Thanks for the chance to win!

We live in Michigan...so, of course, one of my favorite summer memories has to do with the beach and camping with our family. Trekking thru Sleeping Bear dunes to watch a sunset over the lake and back to roast marshmallows!
So cute. I loved it!
When I was growing up every weekend we loaded up the camper and went somewhere different-usually close to home but far enough to feel like we were on a mini adventure every weekend...everywhere we went we made new friends and there was no t.v., just family togetherness...I miss those days.
