I love making these countdown to Christmas calendars and I made this one for my desk at my new job. To make this one I used the Zutter 5x7 Acrylic Covers with tabs and just cut the tabs off before binding it.
I used the Echo Park Christmas paper which has the numbers 1 - 25 on it and cut them up. I then attached them to card stock pieces being sure to leave 1/2" at the top for the binding. I inked all the edges to finish them off.
I then punched holes in all the numbers and two of the Acrylic Covers. The third cover I cut in half and used for my base. Bind - with your trusty BIA - the numbers to the covers just like you are making a mini album being sure the numbers are counting down in the correct order.
See the nice, round owire binding? I used Brown Zutter owire.
Once you've finished the binding you glue the third acrylic piece onto the bottom creating your triangular base. Then decorate your base how ever you want. I added a Christmas Tree with ornaments onto the side and the words "days til Christmas" underneath the countdown numbers.
Now, this project came together really fast, and with the acrylic covers, looks very elegant. It also doesn't take a load of supplies. Try making a countdown to Christmas album for yourself....or a countdown to any special event! Happy Holidays!
