Survivor Crop!!!
I had a great (although too brief) time at the Survivor Crop on Saturday. I really enjoy seeing all the scrappers going at it, and getting to visit so many friends at this amazing gathering! I understand the event raised over $50,000 for the San Diego Affiliate of the Susan G. Koman foundation, and more funds are sure to roll in. Between the silent auctions, paint can exchange, altered bra contest and ATC exchanges – these ladies have a load of fun during an action-packed 24 hours. The event is styled after the TV show, Survivor, with each table an “island” that raises money. Islands as well as individuals are rewarded for their fundraising and at the end of the event an “Ultimate Survivor” is announced. Zutter donated a Bind-it-All V2.0, matching pink Bag-a-Bind, and of course a Pink R10 Round-it-All for the Ultimate Survivor, in recognition of this worthy cause!
I conducted a free make ‘n take at the sponsor store, Ever After in Vista. The lucky croppers got to make a cute pink Cover-All project. Yes, they got some of the first Cover-Alls out in circulation! Design Team member Jennifer Priest was there with Scrapbook Royalty, also conducting a make ‘n take and scrapping with her island. I couldn’t stay to scrap…..I had to rush home to see the destruction of the crew installing new counters in our kitchen. (But that’s a whole other story and not scrap-worthy – at least not yet!)
Have a great week everyone!
