Yes, the shipment arrived and we have copies of BIND-IT-ALL AROUND THE WORLD being unpacked as we speak. Let's hear a WHOOP WHOOP (yes, I think I hear you all!) From Texas and Nevada, to Illinois and Indiana....and Singapore, Sweden and Canada too! You all know who you are! Yeah for us!

It’s Spring time, when all scrapper’s thoughts turn to…..WINNING!

Today is the first day of Spring and it’s an incredibly warm, blue-sky-gorgeous day here in Southern California. So being all energized and ready for warm weather, we have decided to conduct our first blog challenge! The Zutter Zister designers are bringing out their colorful papers and flowers and are making amazing Springtime projects, so let’s see what you have up your sleeves (I have seen some of their April submissions, and the Gallery is going to be amazing come the first week of April!)

Create a Bind-it-All project of any kind (mini book, décor, altered item, even a layout!) – you just have to use the BIA in some way….the theme is Spring! Use springtime colors, events, or just something that feels "springy" to you. Leave a comment on this blog post with a link to a photo of your project. Your comment should mention how you used the BIA. Nothing too technical, just mention, “used baby blue owire” or something like that. The Zutter Zisters DT will pick their favorite and we will have an April Springtime Challenge Goddess!

But instead of a tiara and scepter, our winner will receive their choice of either the R5 Blue or R10 Pink Round-it-All shipped to their door! Yippee! We will also post the selected project on the blog and gush over it. Lots of bragging opportunities up for grabs here!
Challenge begins today and the last comments posted by April 17 – that’s a Friday. Our DT will huddle and make their selection by 4/24. At that time, we will have another challenge for May! Sound fun? Hope so! Let’s see what you’ve got!

To get you started on some inspiration, here is a little – and I mean little - mini book I made using 2” X 2” chipboard! It was a great way to use those little index prints I have piling up. I made a book celebrating my daughter’s sweetness…and it fits in the palm of my hand! I felt like I needed to put a penny in the picture to show how small it is! Think of all the little bits and pieces you could use for small projects like this! I used scraps of paper (of course) but also pieces of transparencies, ribbon scraps and random flowers and embellishements that weren't enough for larger projects. Give it a try with your scraps!

BHG's Scrapbook Etc. Feature!

The Gadget Girls column in Better Homes & Garden's Scrapbooks Etc. magazine has a feature in the April issue on the Bind-it-All! Yeah! We have been working with their editors to get featured and provide some tutorial on the basics of the BIA. Most magazines work months in advance, so I feel like I have been waiting for this column to appear for six months! But we are excited to finally see it! Make 'n Take at Scrapbook Royalty Slumber Crop - March 14

Aren't the 3X4 Cover-Alls the cutest? This one will be the make 'n take at Scrapbook Royalty's Slumber Crop coming up March 14-15 in San Marcos, CA. All proceeds from this MnT will benefit the Cancer Coping Center and the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos. If you don't know about Scrapbook Royalty, you should take a minute to check them out. They conduct charitable crops for noble causes, and have raised $$$ for numerous charities. It's an amazing way that scrappers can craft and give back at the same time. Put this on your To-Do list!

I teach a monthly "Zutter Club" at The Scrapbooker's Dream in Tewksbury, MA. Every month I teach some kind of mini-book, and then send the students home with a "challenge" kit. The challenge kit has supplies in it, but no directions, so that the students can let their ideas flow... Here's my take on this month's challenge.

The Materials:
3 5"x7" pieces of American Crafts Cardstock
4 5"x7" pieces of My Mind's Eye Patterned Paper
2 5"x7" pieces of Heavy Weight Chipboard
1 Maya Road Sheer Flower
1 yard of May Arts Ribbon
1 4"x6" notebook

I knew that I wanted to have the little notebook slide in and out of the back, so I would need a pocket (I make lots of lists :) and wanted to be able to replace the notepad once it was all used up) so I covered the back chipboard cover with cardstock, and a smaller piece of patterned paper. I attached only the edges of the patterned paper to make a pocket. To be sure that I could slide it in and out easily, I also cut a T pattern on the back of the notepad...

For the final decorated cover, I added the title using my QuicKutz, "To Do" is Katie Mini, and "Today" is Abigail.
The Bind-it-All makes it easy to put together note pads like this. Give it a try!

Owire Poets

Yesterday I taught and scrapped, many miles away.
And alas, last night I fell asleep,
Before naming the winners of the day.
