It's True! The BIA is the BEST!

I headed out to Art Inspired Studios in Brentwood, California, to teach my BIA mini album class. It was definitely a load of fun and creativity. I had such a great time with a wonderful group of girls. Here are some pictures from my class:

After this mini album class, a couple of girls picked up their very own BIA...and a couple of other gals decided that it was time to dust off their unopened boxes. It really is the best way to create custom albums (mini or otherwise).  With that said, make sure you check your local scrapbook store for BIA classes (or online at MCC for classes by Zister Nan).

Take a Class with a Zutter Zister

Good day, all you Zutter fans! :) Sarah, here... and today, I wanted to share one of my upcoming classes with you.

If you are in the Northern California area, I will be at Art Inspired Studios teaching a fun class that will show you how to use the Bind-it-All. On top of learning how to use this awesome binding tool, we will be playing with some other Zutter products.






If you've always wanted to try binding your own book with the Bind-it-All and work with awesome Zutter products, you won't want to miss out on this class. So if you are in the area, check it out.

they grow up way too fast

Over and over, I hear people tell me that their children grow up way too fast. Well, isn't that what scrapbooking is all about?! Documenting stages in our lives so that we don't forget what happened?!

With that in mind, I created a mini album that helps track the growth of a newborn baby boy. This album can also be altered to accommodate the growth of a baby girl as well.



For the cover, I wrapped a Zutter Bamboo Spine Cover-All with the latest from Teresa Collins. Then, I added tons of flowers and bling to embellish my cover.



The inner pages are a compilation of monthly pages. Monthly pages?! Well, I created this mini album as a way to document the growth of a baby boy. If you want to include more photos than each page can fit, insert Zutter Moveable Pre-Punched Page Protectors.



Pretty simple, right?! Hope you enjoyed this mini album as much as I did.

My Pink Album (Happy National Scrapbook Day!)

Today, I thought I would share one of my mini albums that I recently created using some pretty Urban Swank paper and some WONDERFUL projects from Zutter.


By stacking the mini album with various layers such as Zutter Acrylic Covers, 13X13 Corrugated cardboard, and paper, it added so much dimension to my project.

For the cover of this mini album, I played with some of the latest Zutter Corrugated Cardboard! I teared back some of the cardboard to create a distressed look to my project. I also added an acrylic cover to the frontr to give the mini album more dimension.


For my inner pages, I added some Movable Pre-Punched Page Protectors! The best part about these pages is that you can move them to any part of your mini album. For this one, I decided to put them at the beginning:

To bind together, I, of course, used my trusty Bind-it-All! ...and yup, that is white owire you see! I have a slight obsession with white owires if you haven't already noticed! :)

So there you have it. If you are in a bind (haha, get it?!), try using different Zutter mediums (acrylic, corrugated cardboard, chipboard, clipboard wood, etc) to put together an album. The Bind-it-All will basically punch through anything! :)

Alpha Stickers Organization - With Cover-Alls and Page Protectors!

Today, I wanted to share a project I created as an attempt to help my scraproom's organization!

 

How many of you have a stack of mini alpha stickers lying around in a messy pile? Well, I know I do, so I created this album to store my stickers.

 

To create the book, I used Zutter's 8x8 Black Bamboo Spine Cover-All. To embellish the cover, I just added a simple design with patterned paper. Then, I decorated the rest of the cover-all with my leftover letters. For the inner pages, I used the 8x8 Pre-Punched Page Protectors. This allows for easy storage for your stickers; just slide them right into the page protector.

 

Even though I used the Pre-Punched Page Protectors, feel free to use the Moveable Pre-Punched Page Protectors. This way, it allows you easily move your letters around.

The Zutter products that were used in this project are listed below:

• Owire Size & Color: White 3/4" owires

In a "BIND" with Love Letters

Hi, everyone. It's me, Sarah. Today, I thought I would write about LOVE.

There's so much to write about LOVE. Quite honestly, it would take me years and years to write about it, so I thought I would talk about the most timeless and most treasured way to express LOVE... a simple LOVE letter, whether it be from a significant other, a best friend, a family member, or just someone that you hold dear to your hear.

Personally, I love to receive handwritten notes and letters from the people I love. ...and just like photographs, I want to treasure them. Well, to get them all organized, I thought that my Bind-it-All would come in handy! Yup, you read that right... I bound the treasured keepsakes together.

Great idea, don't you think!? Now, all of the letters won't get lost! It's all in a book for me to look back on.

...and I'd love to show you the inside of this project, but unfortunately, those notes are for my eyes only. ;)

Make a Butterfly with O-wire

In the past, some of my fellow Zisters have shared some pretty clever projects using owires. I'm not just talking about mini albums, journals, and books. I'm talking about place card holders, jewelry, house decor, etc.

Well, with some Imaginisce products and the "O" so versatile o-wire, I created a butterfly. Below is a video tutorial on how to make a butterfly of your own:



Now that you have seen that video, flutter off and create a butterfly for your next Zutter project.

Add It Up by Sarah de Guzman

Hi, everyone! It's me, Sarah. Okay, honestly, everyone has stuff cluttered around their house. Everything seems to just "add up". Am I right?! ;)

Anyway, I thought I would share how awesome the BIA really is! It can be used to help you organize stuff around the house. Let me enlighten some of you BIA fans:

1. My little cousin is learning how to add (no pun intended with the "add it up" title, hehe). She has flashcards scattered all over the place, and it can be such a hassle to clean up. I created this "Add It Up" book using the BIA to keep the flashcards together.


Neat, huh? You can do this for flashcards or index cards. It works great for cards that you have to flip through. Some examples: any math flashcards, vocabulary cards for your kids, definition cards, etc.

2. Do you have TONS of photos lying around the place?! Don't have time for a mini album or to create layouts for your scrapbook?! Well, BIA will totally be on your "I need this" list! I took some photos, and just threw them all into a small mini album. It was a quick and easy way to get those photos organized.




With just a handful of photos and a couple pieces of patterned paper, you can make a cute mini album in one night. You don't even have to cut your 4x6 photos! Make sure you keep plenty of owire on hand - you never know what you will try to bind!

3. Some other fun examples to think about:
Banking statements, credit card statements, receipts, recipe cards, important car documents, tax papers, health care papers, etc.

This list is endless, but if anyone else has some FUN ideas, please feel free to comment and share some ideas with us. You never know - your project could be featured in the future!

Hope I inspired some of you to go use your BIA for everyday things!

Holiday Decor - WISH

Can you believe that Christmas is just around the corner?! Where the heck did 2009 go?! Anyway, what better way to get into the holiday spirit... decorating, of course!

I created this really easy to make "WISH" banner. Check it out:




How to:
1. Cut four 4x4 sheets of patterned paper and embellish it to yur heart's desire. (Here, I used some cute Imaginisce paper.)
2. Adhere your patterned paper to four 4x4 Zutter Canvas Artboards.
3. Use your BIA to punch the tops of each canvas board.
4. Cut o-wire of your choice and bind it to each canvas board. (I worked with 1/2" owire on this project.)
5. String ribbon through the owire.
